Ferry Routes to Corfu
Board a Kerkyra Lines or Kerkyra Seaways vessel in Igoumenitsa and you will cross the Ionian Sea (to Corfu) in just 90 minutes. These two operators dominate the local waters, running dozens of daily crossings that carry thousands of vacationers and their cars straight into the main port. If you are exploring beyond Greece, look at the regional ferry map to find quick cross-border connections from Finikas Lines heading to Albania or the overnight Grimaldi ships sailing to Italy. Book a vehicle ticket early during the summer rush so you do not get left waiting on the mainland docks.

The Ionian Shortcut: Getting your car to Corfu
Driving your car to Corfu is simple because it is so close to the mainland. The largest ferry operators in the region include Kerkyra Seaways, Kerkyra Lines, and Anek Superfast. Most travelers take a quick hop over from Greece or a long overnight trip from Italy.
- The Mainland Route: The most popular trip is from Igoumenitsa. In 2026, there are over 20 sailings a day. You do not need to book weeks in advance for this short hop. You can usually just drive up to the port and buy a ticket for the next boat. Review our Italy route map for details on connecting ports.
- The Italy Connection: If you are driving from Europe, you can board in Bari, Brindisi, or Ancona. These are massive ships with cabins and restaurants. The trip from Brindisi is the fastest at 6.5 hours. Ancona takes about 18 to 20 hours.
- International Hops: You can also reach Corfu from Saranda in Albania. This is a 30 minute trip on a fast boat. It is a popular choice for day trippers wanting to see two countries in one day.
- Pricing (2026): The short hop from Igoumenitsa is very cheap, around โฌ10 per person and โฌ30 to โฌ45 for a car. Italy routes are pricier, starting at โฌ65 for a seat. Check the cost of a ferry crossing in peak season as rates can double.
Corfu has two main entry points for ferries. Most international and mainland boats go to Corfu Town in the middle of the island. However, some ferries from Igoumenitsa go to Lefkimmi in the far south. If your hotel is in the north, landing in Lefkimmi adds a 1.5 hour drive to your trip. Always check which dock your boat is using!
“If you are coming from Italy, book a cabin at least 5 months early for the summer. These ships are like floating hotels and the beds sell out long before the car spaces do. For the short Igoumenitsa trip, just head to the Domestic pier and look for the boat with its ramp down. It is usually the next one to leave.”
